The Altberg Malham is a day hiking boot for hill waking on paths and trails.
TheNida Hydro full grain leather upper is very soft and supple to give excellent comfort with very little ‘walking in required’.
This boot is made on the Altberg AForme last which has a narrow heel and waist, the toe of the boot is sprung slightly upwards, so that the boot rolls forward when walking, which enhances comfort and balance on hills and uneven terrain.
Very lightweight, the microlayer between the sole and foot also gives excellent shock absorption.
NOTE.
There is a rolling changeover of sole units from the original Vibram Masai version to the Defender Hi-Traction Sole – which offers improved up-hill traction, downhill braking and Slip Resistance: (Shown in product pictures)

*The AForme refers to the more asymmetric shape of the last. Many of the features are taken from running shoe characteristics, a narrower heel and waist to hold and support the rear of the foot, an increased upwards toe lift (rocker), reduced sideways pressure on the large toe, and a wider forefoot with slightly above medium volume.
