Hilleberg Allak 2 Tent – Sand

The Hilleberg Allak 2 is a remarkably light, yet impressively strong tent that is well-suited for anything from summer paddling to winter ski mountaineering and year-round backpacking. The three poled dome construction with multiple crossing points provide outstanding snow-loading handling capabilities and the freestanding design make it ideal for tough pitching conditions, such a rocky ground and sand. This fully freestanding dome design also requires no pegs for pitching, and the straightforward short sleeve and clip pole system also makes for quick, easy set up.

Featuring plenty of room for two occupants and their gear, the Allak is easily light enough for mobile journeys, where you move your camp every day, and two-entrance construction allows for superb ventilation options in warm weather and ensure that one door can always be situated out of the wind. The two integrated vestibules are set parallel to the sleeping area, giving excellent access to gear storage space as well as ease of entry and exit.

The high bathtub floor keeps out groundwater and full no-see-um mesh on the inner tent door is covered by a zipper adjustable, fabric panel for all-season comfort. Dual guy lines on each pole, with the upper attachment loop designed to wrap around the pole, increases stability in poor conditions and the adjustable roof vent can be closed with a snow-proof panel which is accessible from inside the tent.

For added protection, an additional tough Footprint can be purchased to help protect the tent’s floor from abrasion and to keep ground moisture from rising in the vestibule.
