The Ribelle is described by Scarpa as a next generation fast-paced mountain boot, and it’s easy to see why, a mix of new materials with quality fit and construction if you are a summer alpine and mountain walker then give these a serious look.

A closer look
There’s a lot of new technology in the Ribelle Lites, the upper is a Microtech fabric that is laminated with a waterproof breathable H-Dry membrane, this is wrapped by a PU layer on the lower of the boot for abrasion resistance on rock and scree. This layer is also lighter than a traditional rubber rand.
The Pentax Precision Roll outsole uses Vibram rubber for superb grip and wear. The boot has extensive cushioning with a roll to the sole, so despite this being a fairly stiff boot it’s comfortable from the off. They are also crampon compatible.
For Via Ferrata you need a stiff boot with great forefoot grip, these boots are perfect for attacking the ladders and routes in Europe and this translates to a great scrambling boot for UK mountains and hills if that’s not your thing.
In summary, these boots are a little different in look to a traditional mountain boot but pack a lot in, crampon compatible, waterproof, stiff but with excellent comfort and cushioning, if you’re a mountain user year round then they could be an excellent choice.
