The Solar Horizon 2 is the ideal tent for backpackers and long-distance trekkers who are looking for the optimal balance of space, weight-saving, and durability. New for 2025, it features an inner pitch-first design, allowing for greater flexibility in different conditions.
This is tent features a unique Terra Nova’s TriPlex™ triple ripstop flysheet, which provides increased durability and reduces stretching when wet. A compilation of Recycled, Solution Dyed and PFC-free fibres, Terra Nova’s TriPlex™ is one of the most environmentally friendly tent fabrics available, without sacrificing performance.
Comfort
With a packed weight of just 1.9kg, it’s light enough for fast-paced adventures but offers impressive interior space, with 224cm length and 126cm width, providing a comfortable sleeping area for two people.
Featuring two side-entry doors with generous porch space for gear storage, the Solar Horizon 2 is built for those who need a reliable, versatile, and environmentally conscious 3-season shelter.
Setup
For added versatility, it’s compatible with Terra Nova’s FASTPACK and Pitchlite Systems, allowing for a customised setup based on conditions and weight requirements. The option to add trekking poles provides additional structural support, making the Solar Horizon 2 an adaptable, high performance shelter.

Materials
Terra Nova TriPlex fabric is a compilation of Recycled, Solution Dyed and PFC-free fibres, to create one of the most environmentally friendly tent fabrics available, without sacrificing performance.
Terra Nova tents now feature recycled flysheets, groundsheet and inners fabrics, made from post-consumer plastic bottles.
Solution Dyeing is a technique that creates long-lasting, highly pigmented fabrics whilst reducing impact on the environment. Dying the polymers first, rather than the fibres after they’ve been made into fabric, results in less water, chemical waste and energy use. It can also reduce harmful bi-products entering the atmosphere, like CO2.
PFAS and PFC’s pose environmental concerns due to their persistence and potential harm to our ecosystems. After vigorous testing and development to ensure quality remains at the forefront of our products, all Terra Novatents are now fully PFC-free.
